Birds

I have, over the years, enjoyed spotting and identifying birds. However, I have now found that photographing birds has taught me to view birdlife differently. Photographing birds, particularly birds in flight, is challenging and has taught me to observe their behavior in an effort to capture the image I am looking for.
In Southern Africa we have in excess of 950 recorded species of birds so I have no shortage of challenges awaiting me.

Wildlife

With many game reserves to choose from there is no shortage of photo opportunities for wildlife photographers in Southern Africa. The challenge is always to be in the right place at the right time to capture the image you are looking for.

Landscapes and Seascapes

Photographing Land & Seascapes presents its own challenges. Planning is crucial. One needs to be at the location long before time. Compositions need to be considered. Gear needs to be set up. Patience must be exercised in waiting for the optimal light conditions for the scenes to be photographed. Because I am photographing in RAW post processing is essential to the look of the image I intended.
